A cristero colonel conducts, military and spiritually, six of his men through the sierra. This men are peasants, poor and proud people. They are followed by the government and are in need of ammunitions in order to fight. The support does not arrive and life in the sierra turns more difficult every day; the war is almost over. Men, in their suffering, start feeling abandoned, in their illness and solitude. They are almost the last ones. Although rendition is an option, their oath to god is made; they have to die in the name of Christ the King.

Public Works
Public Works is epic historical drama about the struggle of two middleclass cousins Walter Vedder and Christiaan Anijs to rise from their social class at the end of the 19th century. The story takes us from the heart of bustling Amsterdam to the peat colonies in Northern Netherlands. Set against the background of the huge social changes brought about by industrialization, symbolized by the construction of the Victoria Hotel in Amsterdam, that threatens to force Vedder from his home.
